Castle and Garden.

Alnwick Castle, often dubbed the Windsor of the North, takes pride of place in the town of Alnwick. The castle is popular with film-makers: Blackadder, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Harry Potter; are some of the films shot here.

Alongside is the Duchess of Northumberland’s blooming marvellous creation – The Alnwick Garden. Dine among the treetops in the fairytale setting of one of the world’s largest tree houses.

The Coast and Villages.

Alnwick District is famous for its unspoilt beauty, and is one of the most picturesque areas of countryside in the whole of England – with long sandy beaches, quiet friendly villages, the Simonside and Cheviot hills.

The district boasts a wealth of sporting and leisure facilities, including football, cricket, rugby, rambling, rock climbing, water sports, cycling and horse riding. For the cyclist or walker there are many quiet roads and tracks.
